The model preserves licensee independence while making file intake, payment, and administration more efficient.

Purpose of the Model

Justiceasy Inc. offers subscription-based legal care plans that facilitate access to legal services by assigning discrete legal matters to Ontario-licensed lawyers and paralegals on a fixed-fee, per-file basis. Compensation is paid directly by Justiceasy Inc.

Nature of the Relationship

  • Justiceasy Inc. is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice
  • Partner lawyers and paralegals act as independent licensees—not employees, agents, or partners of Justiceasy Inc.
  • Acceptance of any file is at the sole discretion of the licensee

File Assignment & Scope

  • Files are assigned based on practice area, availability, and capacity
  • Each file includes a clearly defined scope of work and a pre-determined flat fee
  • Scope and compensation are disclosed before acceptance
  • Licensees may decline any file without penalty

Compensation Structure

  • Justiceasy Inc. pays the licensee a fixed fee per completed file
  • Fees are not contingent on outcome
  • No direct client billing, invoicing, or trust accounting is required within the limited scope
  • A client may separately retain the assigned provider for services beyond Justiceasy Inc.’s limited scope retainer
  • The arrangement is structured to avoid impermissible fee-sharing or referral fee arrangements

Professional Independence & Control

Licensees retain full and exclusive control over:

  • Legal advice, strategy, and professional judgment
  • Compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct or Paralegal Rules of Conduct
  • All legal decision-making and outcomes, without direction, interference, or supervision by Justiceasy Inc.

Client Relationship & Ethical Compliance

  • Services are provided in accordance with all applicable obligations, including competence, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest
  • Licensees ensure matters fall within their permitted scope of practice
  • Licensees identify and address conflicts and maintain required professional liability coverage

Marketing & Solicitation

  • Participation does not involve solicitation or inducement by the licensee
  • Licensees are not required to market services or engage in client acquisition activities

Regulatory Intent

Justiceasy Inc.’s business model is intended to operate within Ontario’s professional conduct rules and applicable legislation. Nothing in the arrangement is intended to limit or override a licensee’s regulatory obligations.

Justiceasy Inc. is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Legal services are provided exclusively by licensed Ontario professionals who retain full independence, professional judgment, and responsibility for compliance with applicable conduct rules.

  • Licensees may accept or decline any file at their discretion
  • Scope of work and compensation are agreed in advance
  • Compensation is a fixed fee per matter and is not outcome-based
  • No client funds are received or held in trust by licensees within the assigned scope
  • Justiceasy Inc. does not direct, supervise, or interfere with legal services
  • The solicitor-client or paralegal-client relationship exists directly between the licensee and the client
